We’ve been on a gummy kick at our house recently. Ningxia gummies have been on of my kids’ favorite healthy snacks for about a year now. But today we whipped up a batch of Elderberry gummies using some Elderberry syrup I had made a few weeks ago. Guys, these gummies are so delicious.
I followed this recipe from Wellness Mama
Here’s what you need in case you want to whip up your own batch.
a cute silicon mold (these are the ones we have from Amazon). We have three of them and this recipe filled all three up twice, so I’ll definitely be purchasing another set soon.
1 cup of organic homemade elderberry syrup
1/4 cup gelatin powder
1/2 cup hot water
Place 1/4 cup of elderberry syrup in a large glass measuring cup and whisk in the gelatin. My mixture got gloopy right away because my elderberry was cold.
Add 1/2 cup of hot water and stir. I ended up having to put my measuring cup in the microwave for about 30 seconds to warm it up so the gelatin would mix well.
Add the rest of the Elderberry syrup and stir until smooth.
Pour into your molds and refrigerate until they are done. You’ll know they are done because they won’t feel wet anymore, they’ll feel like cold gummies.
Pop out your cute little gummies and place in a glass container in the fridge.
My kids take 2-4 of these gummies every morning with their breakfast. This particular batch of elderberry syrup didn’t have any essential oils added. The syrup was so delicious with just the honey, I didn’t think I needed it but you can always add essential oils to the mixture before you add it to the molds. Orange, Cinnamon Bark, Lemon- those are all great choices that would make the gummies even more delicious.
I love when healthy is easy and delicious.
