So we’re doing a thing in our household and I have to tell you I am scared to death. Well maybe not that scared. But I’m pretty scared. It’s been a few months actually a few years that I’ve felt this tug and I’ve wanted to run but I’ve also held myself back. I’ve stayed where I was comfortable doing the same things we’ve been doing and just hoping for a change. But change is hard and to change, you have to be brave and actually CHANGE.
So change is what we’re doing. We are switching up our homeschooling this year and I’m jumping headfirst into a Charlotte Mason education. These days you’ll find me devouring resources and just trying to learn as much as I possibly can. You’ll also find me inside my head a lot as I try to fight the fear that I’m coming to this too late. I’m also buying all the books. I literally had to delete Instagram from my phone for a few days because the boxes of used living books just kept coming. I’m obsessed and excited and scared out of my mind.
We’ve done Classical Conversations for the past 5 years. It’s all Alivea has ever known. And it’s been good and honestly, without CC I don’t think I ever would have been brave enough to try something new. I needed a good foundation and that’s what we got in Classical Conversations. My daughter has a good foundation and I do not regret the past 5 years at all. It’s a weird thing because normally you go looking for something else because the thing you’re doing isn’t working but that’s not how it is at all. CC still works for us. But I just want more. I have seen my daughter come alive with living books and I’ve seen her come alive when she is left to explore and research on her own. So we’re diving in.
If you’ve felt the call to homeschool or to explore the Charlotte Mason style, here are a few resources that are helping me oh so much these days.

Go forth and educate yourselves people. Me- I’ll be over here sipping good coffee and drowning in good books. And getting super excited about change and growth and reading all the books with my kids this fall.
